SSC has announced the recruitment of Technical Superintendents (Weaving) through its ADVERTISEMENT NO. Phase-X/2022/Selection Posts dated: 12-May-2022 for Weaver’s Service Centre.
Weavers’ Service Centers play a pivotal role in skill up-gradation, capacity building and disseminating the technological interventions for reducing the drudgery to the handloom weavers and better productivity, thereby improving earnings of the weavers. They provide design input to the weavers through their designers, and arrange training programmes for the weavers in various pre weaving, weaving and post weaving disciplines such as winding, warping, sizing dyeing, and dobby jacquard pneumatic weaving, design making (CAD), dyeing, etc. WSCs also sponsor weavers in various trade fairs, Expos, to help them in establishing direct market linkages.

| Educational Qualification | 1. Bachelor’s Degree in textile technology OR Three Year’s Diploma in Handloom Technology OR Handlooms and Textile Technology from a recognized University OR Institute. 2. Two Year’s Practical experience as shift-In-charge for Degree Holders and Three Years for Diploma Holders in a Textile Weaving or production establishment or Corporation or Institution, out of which, at least one year should be in handlooms dealing with all the different techniques of production as well as analysis and costing of handloom fabrics including traditional varieties and special fabrics of all fibers and their blends, dismantling, erecting and working of different types of handlooms and handloom accessories such as jacquards, dobbies, jalas and experience of guiding and controlling the activities of the weavers in the production of fabrics with new designs and textures as well as organize the production of commercial samples using improved accessories and appropriate techniques of production. |

| Job Requirement / Duties of Post | The candidate is familiar with different techniques of production, analysis, and costing of handloom fabrics including traditional varieties and special fabrics,s and organizes the production of commercial samples using improved accessories. Nature of Duties -Supervision and control the activities of the weavers in the production of samples, fabrics with new designs, and textures by using improved accessories and appropriate techniques. Duties are related to dismantling, erecting and working on different types of looms jacquards, dobbies, and jalas, imparting training house & in the field. |
